CAbi’s UNIQUE FASHION EVENT RENEWS CONFIDENCE FOR LOCAL LOW-INCOME AND UNDEREMPLOYED WOMEN
Local homeless and hunger prevention nonprofits come together for fashion event to benefit low income and underemplopyed Orange County Women
Irvine, CA---- In conjunction with Heart of CAbi week, South County Outreach will host 100 local Orange County women to receive new clothing items. Led by Heart of CAbi Week Ambassador and South County Outreach board member, Christiana Parsons, local CAbi stylists will come together to provide a day of fashion and fun for a mix of clients from South County Outreach, as well as Families Forward (Irvine) and Family Assistance Ministries (San Clemente). With the help of a CAbi stylist, the women in attendance will be “styled” through a donation of 500 new clothing items.
“It’s really exciting to be chosen for the Heart of CAbi event,” said Lara Fisher, South County Outreach Executive Director. “The women who will benefit are choosing between paying bills and feeding their families; the last thing they are doing is buying themselves new clothes. This will be such a treat for them. Each woman will leave a personalized shopping spree with a work or interview appropriate outfit.”
Women, from all three nonprofits, will be greeted with coffee and desserts before stepping into the “boutique” filled with rack of brand-new CAbi clothing. Each woman will leave with not only new professional clothing and a wrapped gift to take home, but a renewed feeling of value and confidence.

New to the board of directors at South County Outreach, Parsons saw an opportunity to build a bridge, assisting women in need who turn to South County Outreach for help with paying for housing, utility bills and food with the opportunity to do something for themselves and help spur positive change.
“When a woman changes the way she looks at herself, it changes the way she looks at the world. I hope every woman leaves feeling this way, but if just one leaves our event with a newfound confidence and sense of empowerment, then we have made the change both CAbi and these agencies strive for.” she said, “These women are so focused on making ends meet for their families, they rarely have the time or energy to do something for themselves. We want to help create a special day just for them.”

Seeing an opportunity for partnership, South County Outreach invited Families Forward and Family Assistance Ministries to take part in this unique event. All three nonprofits are located in South Orange County and are focused on creating healthy families by preventing hunger and homelessness.
The event is part of Heart of CAbi Foundation Week, taking place this year from May 14–20. Throughout the week, CAbi stylists from around the world host large-scale clothing donation events to support women in their community. The Heart of CAbi Foundation was founded in effort to empower women in need around the world.
