Call to Action for Food Donations!

Baha'is of Aliso Viejo are holding a food drive to support South County Outreach, and they encourage others to help.

Call to Action for Food Donation Following Flooding at South County Outreach

On August 14, an overnight flooding at South County Outreach, a non-profit organization that provides hunger and homeless prevention services, forced the closure of their pantry and offices. The flood resulted in thousands of pounds of affected foods, leaving the Outreach without much to distribute at one of their busiest times of the year.

To assist in replenishing their sources as soon as possible, the Bahá'i Community of Aliso Viejo has started a food drive, taking place now through October 15.

“After hearing about the devastating flooding, we felt we had to do something to help. The South County Outreach website made it easy to organize the food drive, and within a day we were ready to go. Friends and neighbors have been so generous, and to date we have filled two bins with food for the center,” said Teri Binaei, a Bahá'i in Aliso Viejo.

The Baha’is of Aliso Viejo encourage others to take action and donate non-perishable foods to South County Outreach that has served Orange County for over 29 years. Food can be dropped off at 9 Endless Vista, Aliso Viejo or taken directly to South County Outreach, 7 Whatney, Suite B, Irvine, 949/380-8144.
