Disney Store Exec Moves to OC Goodwill

A Disney retail executive has been named to Goodwill of Orange County's newly created position of vice president of marketing and community development.

“Goodwill has been opening new retail stores and has a growing e-commerce presence with shopgoodwill.com," Goodwill of Orange County President and CEO Frank Talarico Jr. said of Joe Burke's hiring. "Orange County is surging in relation to Goodwills nationally, and Joe's background with major brands ... will bring a whole new perspective to the Goodwill experience.” 

According to Goodwill, Burke has nearly two decades of experience in retail, tech and youth brands. His resume includes work at Cox Communications, Fox Sports, Wet Seal and Tech Coast Venture Network.

Burke is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he was a Hylan Scholarship recipient and NCAA athlete, according to Goodwill. He lives in Yorba Linda with wife Ellen, a Cal State Fullerton professor of special education, and their two daughters. 

Goodwill of Orange County, in its 88th year, has donation centers and thrift stores throughout the county.
