Fundraiser: Help Send the Aliso Niguel Baseball Team to North Carolina!

The Aliso Niguel High baseball team has been invited to play in a tournament in North Carolina, and they could use some help.

So they're using one sport -- golf -- to fund their own. The team will be staging a charity golf tourney on October 28 at the Aliso Viejo Country Club to help pay for the North Carolina trip. A silent auction and dinner will be held after the golf tournament as well.

USA Baseball -- the national governing body of amateur baseball -- invited the ANHS squad (they won the 2013 Sea View League championship) because the organization feels the team is very strong and can compete on a national level. The Carolina action will take place over a four-day stretch in March 2014 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., and will feature some of the country's best high school baseball players over the course of the 16-team single elimination series.

The prize? National recognition, the attention of college and pro scouts, and the chance to win it all.
