Kidnapping, Assault Suspect Sought In Aliso Viejo

In an eerie resemblance to last year's attempted kidnappings, Orange County Sheriff's Department officers are seeking this man.

ALISO VIEJO, CA — Skateboarding in Woodfield Park is a natural activity for many. One woman, who was partaking in that past time Monday, was forcibly kidnapped and dragged into the nearby bushes, Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.

Investigators are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who attacked her.

While skateboarding in the Woodfield Park at 6 p.m., the suspect approached the 22-year-old woman, police say.

First, he attempted a conversation. Next, he unexpectedly attacked and terrorized her, police say.
"(The suspect) grabbed the victim, who fought and screamed during the incident," OCSD Spokeswoman Carrie Braun said. "(He) threw the victim on the ground, dragged her into the bushes, and then fled in an unknown direction."

This violent attack is being dealt with as a kidnapping, authorities say.

The suspect is a light-skinned, black or Hispanic man in his 40s, with dark hair. He is approximately 6-feet tall, medium build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and possibly shorts.

Patch has reached out to the Orange County Sheriff's Department regarding similarities in the 2019 attacks in a nearby area of Aliso Viejo. As of this report, no connection has been made to those attacks.
