A Local Fast Food Chicken Bowl Eatery Review
What a treat! Flame Broiler at Laguna Hills Center (corner of Moulton & Lake Forest)
I have to say, I don't normally review fast food joints, but this is one that I was compelled to talk about. I've always sorta like Flame Broiler for the "Healthy" alternative to typical fast food. I've visited most all Flame Broilers around south Orange County and have found that most are similar to portion size and taste, with minimal exceptions.
Recently I found myself over at Best Buys on Lake Forest for a USB memory chip during my lunch break. So I decided to have lunch at the Flame Broiler down the street at the corner of Lake Forest and Moulton.
There was a sign that read "Under New Management", and so I expected the same as usual. The new folks there were so nice and friendly, as usual, and/but you could tell that they were just a bit rusty out-of-the-gate.
But what got my attention was that this meal looked a bit different than any other Flame Broiler I've been too.

I figured that maybe because the owners are ethnic, that their style of cooking is just a bit different than other establishments... and happily I was right.
You see, ethnic people have been cooking white rice, chicken and vegetable for eons, as far as I know. So they really, really know how to make an Asian type Chicken Bowl.

First off, the chicken had so much more color and BBQ smell than any other I've had. The rice seemed slightly stickier and stuck to my spoon so well that I was compelled to try those other two sticks, what-cha-ma-call-its... Chop Sticks! And I was successful at that too. Even the vegetables were cut. Sliced thinner, they had more flavor.
It seems, unlike others, they actually add some 'magic' sauce to the meat while cooking which adds to the slightly burnt, heavier BBQ flavor throughout.
This was truly a great Chicken Bowl. and I'm going back again and again!
p.s. The girl behind the counter is also awesome too.
