Local Physical Therapist Wins National Award

Orange County, CA (April 11, 2018) - Dr. Nicole Cozean has been named the IC Physical Therapist of the Year by the Interstitial Cystitis Network, a national award chosen by patients. Based on patient nominations from across the country, Dr. Nicole received 25% of all votes cast for the prestigious award, presented by the patient advocacy group The IC Network.

Interstitial cystitis is a condition that affects 12 million people across the United States, causing severe bladder pain and the constant urge to urinate. The pain can be as bad as that of bladder cancer, and some patients with the condition need to use the bathroom 30 or more times a day.

This is an area that Dr. Nicole has been dedicated to for years. She authored the award-winning and best-selling book The Interstitial Cystitis Solution (2016) and was the first physical therapist elected to the Interstitial Cystitis Association Board of Directors, where she advocates for patients. In April, Dr. Cozean will be teaching the first in-person Continuing Education course for other physical therapists on the condition in San Diego.

At her PelvicSanity clinic in Laguna Hills, Nicole and her team treat patients from across the United States and around the world, with patients flying in from the East Coast, Canada, Europe, Australia, and even Saudi Arabia.

Nicole Cozean, DPT, PT, WCS, is the founder of PelvicSanity, a specialty physical therapy clinic that focuses solely on pelvic pain and dysfunction.
