Mike Tomlinson Remembered By Friends, Family In Aliso Viejo

ALISO VIEJO, CA — Michael David Tomlinson, a longtime Orange County resident, husband, father, and friend, was struck and killed on January 30 by a hit-and-run driver. A memorial was placed in his honor as his loved ones lit candles in memory of the man who touched many lives. His funeral took place Tuesday morning.

"Mike was the kindest, funny and devoted son, brother, friend, husband, and father," his wife, Judy Tomlinson said over GoFundMe. Sole provider to his family, a fundraising site to assist his family was established on Feb. 1. In just four days, that site reached over $103,000, GoFundMe reports.

Michael Tomlinson was employed by Broadcom, who is matching donations, dollar for dollar, in his memory.

According to his wife, he was "an adventurous soul." Raised in the United Kingdom, he worked in Japan, and traveled extensively in Asia, before calling California home in 1995. There, he met and married Judy in 1998.

"This loss was sudden, tragic, and incredibly devastating to us all, but the biggest loss comes to Mike's wife and children," the GoFundMe site said. "We are hoping that you can join us in supporting his family in their great time of need."

That need has received a resounding answer, with donations upwards of $10,000 by a single donor made the morning of Feb. 5.
