No Increased Radiation Levels Reported in Southern California
Radioactive plume reaches Southland.

The South Coast Air Quality Management District reports this morning that radiation levels measured at three Southland locations have not been higher than typical “background” levels seen before the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
The AQMD operates the monitors for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency at the sites and sends the information hourly to the EPA.
The Associated Press and Reuters today quoted diplomatic sources as saying tiny amounts of radioactive particles have arrived in the Southland. Health officials have said there's no danger to the West Coast or Pacific territories.
