Rain on the Way, Toddlers at Play and Other Things to Know Today
Five things you need to know today, Feb. 15.
- Children ages 3½ to 6 years old are invited to preschool story time at the Aliso Viejo Library. Stories begin at 1:15 p.m.
- Tonight is the second class of an eight-week Community Emergency Preparedness Academy course. If you are not enrolled, do not fret. We'll provide tips and information from the class on Wednesday.
- Don't forget, the city is looking for your ideas for a logo and slogan to honor Aliso Viejo's 10-year anniversary. The selected logo and slogan will be used for banners and promotional items for the celebration. Ideas must be submitted no later than March 4.
- Rainy weather is on the way. Patchy fog and a 20 percent chance of rain before 10 a.m. is forecast. More rain is expected throughout the week. High today 60, low 53.
- Aliso Viejo Patch still needs your help finding amazing and talented kids in the community. We are looking for individuals, youth groups or teens that deserve acknowledgment for their achievements. Each week we will profile a different Patch Whiz Kid. Send me an e-mail with your nominations for the next Aliso Viejo Whiz Kid and be sure to include the following information:
- Nominator's name
- Nominator's e-mail
- Whiz Kid's name
- Whiz Kid's age
- Whiz Kid's school
- Whiz Kid's accomplishment
- Whiz Kid's "key to awesomeness" (what made him/her successful?)
