The Modern Mom Workforce
Aliso Viejo resident embraces her style and brings her love of jewelry to the community.
The modern mom workforce is finding creative ways to make a few extra bucks
while still taking care of their children.
Like Jenni Garrick, who was featured last week with her self-published children's
book, Aliso Viejo resident Janette Stoll has embarked on a modern mom career with a new version of "Avon calling."
Stoll works as a jewelry stylist for Jewel Kade. As the only stylist currently in Orange County, she is working to build her clientele by holding regular showings at The Neighborhood Cup and through jewelry parties.

With a career in human resources before having children, Stoll said she had a desire to go back to work when her children got a bit older. But even with her children (ages 8 and 10) in school, there is still the problem of time. Stoll joked about approaching a possible employer and asking for hours that worked within her schedule of school drop-off and pick up, parent teacher meetings and after school activities.
"Who is going to hire you under those conditions?" Stoll said.

Her desire to work with people and start making her own money again led her to Jewel Kade.
"It's just not as fun spending my husband's money," she said.
Janet Kinkade, founder and designer of Jewel Kade, is also a modern mom. She began designing jewelry at her home in Utah because she couldn't find the right photo frame style jewelry to hold photos of her now five children. She built her
line of jewelry from there and now has stylists selling her creations across the country.
Her jewelry will be making its musical debut as celebrity "swag" at
the Grammy awards Feb. 12.
Stoll said selling Jewel Kade is a fun way to meet people within the community,
while making some extra money.
Not a stranger to the life of a sales representative, Stoll also works
online selling natural skin and personal care products and runs her own internet marketing blog. Stoll said she grew tired of hiding behind a computer screen and social media persona. Jewelry is more her style anyway.
