ALISO VIEJO, CA — It's Voter Registration Day across the nation, and across Orange County, voters are checking to see if they've been registered to vote, properly. To register to vote in California you must:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be a resident of California
- Be at least 18 or older on Election Day to vote
- Not be currently in state or federal prison, on parole for the conviction of a felony.
- Not be currently found to be mentally incompetent to vote by a court.

If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can use an online registration application to pre-register to vote.

In order to register to vote, pre-register to vote or re-register, use the online voter registration page, located here. â–º
The process will be completed on the California Secretary of State's website, where you will be asked to provide your driver's license number and the last four digits of your social security number.

You can also use this service to make any changes to your registration (such as address changes, name changes and/or changes to your party affiliation).
Please note: Allow a minimum of 48 hours for online applications to process. Registration is not an instant process and requires individual review. Make sure all fields are filled in correctly.

Please note: The deadline to register for the November 6, 2018 General Election is October 22, 2018. After this date, you may register in person using the conditional voter registration process.
