Palace Beginnings:
The Aliso Viejo Ice Palace opened in Aliso Viejo in Nov. 1994. Since then it has expanded with rinks in Lake Forest and Yorba Linda. The Yorba Linda location recently closed.
What does the Ice Palace offer?
The Ice Palace is open from 5 a.m. to midnight most days and offers a variety of services.

The early morning welcomes the high level training ice skaters. Shaffer said Sasha Cohen trained in Aliso Viejo around the last Olympics and Ashley Wagner, the 2012 U.S. National Champion, is currently being trained by Ice Palace trainer, John Nicks.
During the day, skating classes take place and open community hours for free skate. The late evening is for hockey practice.

When is the Ice Palace busy season?
“The poorer the weather, the busier we are,” Shaffer said.
Winter is the busiest season for the Aliso Viejo Ice Palace, although it is in operation all year.
“In Southern California there are so many other activities when it’s nice outside,” Shaffer said.
Ice Palace programs and specials:
Classes are offered to children as young as 4 years old in the Baby Blades class.
Besides the vartiety of classes, the Ice Palace can be rented for birthday and other parties.
Public skating is offered at the following times:
- Monday-Friday, 2:15 to 4:45 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday, 12:30 to 3 p.m.
Evening Schedule
- Wednesday 6:15 to 8 p.m.
- Friday 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
*Evening skate inlcudes music videos and a color light show.
Admission is $13, Skate rental $4.
