American Cancer Society to Recruit People in Baldwin Park for Research

On May 18, 2013, they will be in Baldwin Park High School from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. to recruit participants during the Relay for Life event.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) is inviting men and women in Baldwin Park between the ages of 30 and 65 years who have no personal history of cancer to join a historic research study.

On May 18, 2013, they will be in Baldwin Park High School from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. to recruit participants during the Relay for Life event.

"By joining CPS-3, you can help us understand how to prevent cancer, which will save lives and give people more of their most precious resource - time. More time with their families and friends, more memories, more celebrations and more birthdays", said the ACS in their website.

The ACS goal is to enroll at least 300,000 adults from various racial and ethnic backgrounds from across the United States for a research study called the Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). 

About 34,000 person will be choosen from California, Katherine V. Row from the American Cancer Society told SGV Tribune.

Additional enrollment opportunities will continue until December 2013.
