Baldwin Park Police Department will be having DUI selective enforcements operations from Friday through Memorial Day, said Lt. David Reynoso, spokesperson of the BPPD.Â
"We are not going to have DUI Checkpoints during the Memorial Day weekend but we will be on the streets," said Reynoso.Â
The enforcement will be focused on on apprehension of impaired drivers.Â
In Los Angeles County local law enforcement are planning a massive DUI crackdown this Memorial Day weekend as well.Â
The Avoid the 100 DUI Task Force will coordinate the three-day campaign starting Friday evening through Sunday.
The California Highway Patrol, including the one in Baldwin Park, will also deploy available officers on freeways and county roads as part of their Maximum Enforcement Period.Â
The public is also encouraged to be a team player by calling 911 if they suspect a drunk driver. Callers should be prepared to provide the vehicle’s description, license plate number, location and direction of travel. Â
