Baldwin Park Police To Conduct DUI Checkpoint

Police will be checking for drunk and unlicensed drivers today, July 5, at an undisclosed time and location.

The Baldwin Park Police Department will be conducting multiple DUI/Driver's license Checkpoints at undisclosed times and locations, within the City of Baldwin Park this Friday.

The operation is part of the “Avoid the 100” campaign, a program that brings law enforcement agencies together to crack down on drinking drivers and reduce the number of alcohol-related deaths and injuries.

"The program is a proven and effective tool for achieving the city's goal in removing  impaired drivers from our streets,", said Lt. David Reynoso, from the Baldwin Park Police.

"The potential for an impaired driver to become involved in a traffic collision is greater due to  a driver's slowed response and poor decision making while under the influence of alcohol or drugs."
