The city has posted its 2013-14 budget estimate online for easy viewing.
The document shows the city is projecting to run a general fund deficit of just over $3.6 million for the year, bringing the city's reserve funds down below $1 million.
Including all the city's capital funds and special funds (which can only be used on specific categories of spending) the city is projected to run a deficit of almost $7.8 million.
The San Gabriel Valley Tribune noted in a recent story that the city has yet to pass its budget, practice usually done by June each year. Â The delay, the paper notes, is about the ongoing discussions the city has had for more than a year about disbanding the Baldwin Park Police Department and contracting with the County Sheriff's Department.
