Winds were expected across San Gabriel Valley, with warmer weather expected throughout the week.

BALDWIN PARK, CA — A warming trend got underway Tuesday in the Southland, where temperatures are expected to rise by several degrees.
Southland temperatures will be running several degrees above normal Wednesday, reaching the 80s in some communities, forecasters said.
The high in Downtown L.A. is forecast to be 78, which is seven degrees above normal, said National Weather Service meteorologist David Bruno.

The warmest communities will be in the San Fernando Valley, where Woodland Hills is forecast to reach 83 -- 10 degrees above normal -- and Burbank 80, or nine degrees above normal, he said, attributing the heat to strong high pressure aloft and weak onshore winds.
The NWS forecast sunny skies in L.A. County Wednesday and highs of 67 degrees on Mount Wilson; 72 in Avalon; 74 at LAX; 75 in Palmdale; 76 in Lancaster; 77 in Long Beach; 78 in Downtown L.A.; 79 in San Gabriel; 80 in Pasadena and Burbank; and 83 in Woodland Hills. Thursday's highs will be a degree or two lower in some communities and a degree or two higher in others. Temperatures will decline later this week under partly cloudy skies.
