A big rig carrying about 35,000 pounds of grapes crashed through the center divider of the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Monrovia today, blocking some lanes but resulting in no injuries, the California Highway Patrol in Baldwin Park reported.
The crash occurred about 4:50 a.m. at Huntington Drive, said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos.
According to the preliminary investigation, the driver, for an unknown reason, "allowed his big rig to go left and hit the center divider,'' Villalobos said.
Officers blocked the carpool lanes and the No. 1 lanes in both directions, along with the No. 2 westbound lane while crews worked the clear the scene.
