Body Found in South El Monte Suspected Suicide

An Asian man in his 80s whose body was found outside a vehicle in South El Monte may have committed suicide, a coroner's official said Tuesday.

The body was found about 10 p.m. Monday at Durfee and Santa Anita avenues, according to Assistant Coroner Chief Ed Winter.

Sgt. Lynette O'Brien told SGV Tribune someone drove by and reported a body lying outside a vehicle with a rifle.

The man's identity has not been determined, Winter said.
