Coroner IDs Victim In Baldwin Park Hit-And-Run, Family Seeks Help

BALDWIN PARK, CA — Authorities Thursday identified a male pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Baldwin Park.

Carlos Saavedra, 31, was injured about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday near Vineland and Pacific avenues and died at the scene, according to the coroner's office and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

No description was available of the vehicle or the motorist.

Saavedra's family is seeking justice, and any witnesses who may have information about the collision that took his life.

"My heart aches to find out my brother was tragically taken from us," Cynthia Saavedra said on a GoFundMe page established in Carlos's memorial fund. "(The driver) who took his life didn’t stop to check on him and call for help."
