Court Hearing Tuesday for Baldwin Park Man Charged With Child's Murder

Arraignment is scheduled on Tuesday for a Baldwin Park man who was charged with inflicting fatal injuries on his 21-month-old boy.

David Paz Vasquez is accused of murder and assault on a child causing death; he is being held in lieu of $1 million bail, according to the Sheriff's Department inmate information website.
Vasquez had arraignments postponed in August, July and June.

Following the last postponed hearing, a District Attorney's Office spokeswoman told Patch there is still some ongoing investigation going on into the infant's death and he won't be arraigned until it is complete.  

The child, Joshua Anderson Vasquez died at a hospital June 12, according to Lt. Joe Bale of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.  He had suffered blunt force injuries to the head and torso.

Following the child's death, Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives went to the family's home in the 3700 block of Downing Avenue later that day to investigate a suspicious-death.
