Crash On 60 Freeway Killed an Elderly Man
The crash shut down all but the carpool lanes around City of Industry.

An investigation was under way this morning into a fatal sedan-versus-big rig crash that killed a man in his mid-70s on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Industry, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash on the eastbound side of the freeway east of Fairway Drive was reported at 10:57 p.m. Tuesday, according to CHP Officer Monica Posada. The driver and sole occupant of the car was a man of about 75 who was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.
The woman driving the big rig was not injured, Posada said. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of shock, a CHP sergeant told a news photographer at the scene.

The big rig had become disabled and was stopped in the No. 3 lane when the sedan rear-ended it, Posada said. The car ended up wedged beneath the rear of the big rig, a news photographer reported.
All eastbound lanes of the freeway in the vicinity of the collision and the onramps to the eastbound lanes from Fairway Drive were closed following the crash, Posada said.

The carpool lane was reopened around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, the left main lane around 1:15 a.m., and all lanes were reopened by 2:40 a.m., according to the CHP.
