Collection Day for Domestic Violence Survivors at West Covina Mall

EL MONTE, CA – Rep. Judy Chu, D-El Monte, in partnership with Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center and Westfield West Covina, will host a day-long collection drive to benefit domestic violence survivors this Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Westfield West Covina.

The event, which is part of Rep. Chu’s and Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park’s annual Domestic Violence Campaign Clothing and Necessities Drive during Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, will collect gently used women's and children's clothing, household cleaning products, toiletries, school supplies and used cell phones that will benefit domestic violence survivors served by shelters throughout Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley.

During the day-long event, representatives from the shelters benefiting from the collection drive will be present to provide information about the services they provide. In addition, the event will feature a brief program at 1 p.m. including remarks by Rep. Chu and Victor Cheng, MD, from Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center and the many community groups that have partnered together to support this year’s collection drive. The program, information tables and collection boxes will be located in the Westfield West Covina Mall’s Center Court near Best Buy and Forever XXI.
