Ex Baldwin Park Mayor Jack White Memorialized At Special Ceremony
Former Baldwin Park mayor and longtime school board member Jack B. White was memorialized during a special ceremony at Forest Lawn Chapel.

BALDWIN PARK, CA -- Former Baldwin Park mayor and longtime school board member Jack B. White was memorialized during a special ceremony Tuesday morning at Forest Lawn Chapel.
White – who served on the school board for 22 years and as Baldwin Park’s mayor for 10 years – was recognized and celebrated for his lifelong dedication to his community during a memorial service taking place at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11 at Forest Lawn Chapel in Covina.
White died away May 23 at the age of 85 of natural causes, according to his daughter, Jackie White, who's a retired principal of Sierra Vista High School. He had suffered from cancer and Parkinson's disease.

White was first elected to the Board of Education in 1970 and served as president from 1974 to 1978. He later returned to the Board of Education in 2001 and retired in December 2015.
He also previously was a police commander for the Los Angeles Police Department in 1976 and served as chief of the Bureau of Investigations for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office from 1984 to 1992.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; his children: Angela, Jackie and Stan; and four grandchildren.
He also has a stadium, Sierra Vista High School’s Jack B. White Stadium, named after him.
