AZUSA (CNS) - An investigation was underway this morning into a four- vehicle collision in Azusa that killed a 4-year-old girl and sent five other people to the hospital.
The crash happened around 8:40 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Citrus Avenue and Gladstone Street, said Azusa police Sgt. John Madaloni, adding that it involved a pickup truck, a transit bus and two passenger vehicles.
The 4-year-old was in a vehicle with two other juveniles and two adults who were also hurt, Madaloni said. All five were injured and taken to a hospital, he said, adding that the girl was airlifted and later pronounced dead.
The two other children were in serious condition but were expected to survive, as were the two adults in that vehicle, Madaloni said.
Two passengers on the bus complained of pain. One was taken to a hospital and the other was treated at the scene and released, he said.
No arrests were made nor citations issued, but the investigation is ongoing, Madaloni said.
Police cleared the scene shortly after 5 a.m., he said.
