Fatal House Fire Reported Sunday In Covina

A woman was killed and another man was injured in the blaze.

COVINA, CA — A woman died in a fire today at a home in Covina, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The blaze inside the one-story house at 534 Tudor St. was reported at 12:01 p.m., said county fire Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo.

The victim's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin. Another man was evaluated for injuries at the scene by paramedics but declined to go to the hospital, Marrujo said.

The department sent four engines, one truck and 25 firefighters to the scene, he said. The flames were extinguished in about 10 minutes, he said.

No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
