Ortizmonroy, who had also run a children's wrestling program in Rosemead, came to the attention of Mexican immigration authorities after walking into a U.S. consulate in Mexico in an attempt to obtain a visa to travel to Guatemala.
A routine check determined that he was wanted by sheriff's detectives and he was detained.
The allegations came to light after one of the victims ran across Ortizmonroy's Facebook account and made a video incorporating some of the Facebook material, and the other boy saw the music montage on YouTube, according to a statement released by the District Attorney's Office after the charges were filed.
The crimes occurred in Rosemead, El Monte and Baldwin Park, according to Capt. Mike Parker from the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department.
