Historic Plaque On Ramona Blvd. Uncovered?

Thanks to a tip we got from reader Hector Carrillo, Baldwin Park Patch went to the place where a legendary sign was recently removed and found a historic plaque from the 1970s.

The plaque is a dedication to Ramona Blvd. made on May 1972 when Russell Blewett was the mayor of Baldwin Park.

After workers trimmed the brushes in the area the sign has been more visible to people passing by.

"I walk here almost everyday and never saw the plaque," said Teresa Quijano, a resident who was on her way to work.

The plaque was never covered entirely but it was difficult to see before.

Patch called the mayor to get more info on this dedication but we haven't received a call back yet.
