Hospital Lockdown Lifted After Shots Fired In Baldwin Park

False reports of an active shooter quickly spread on social media but were thrown out by authorities.

BALDWIN PARK, CA — A shooting outside Kaiser Permanente in Baldwin Park left one person wounded and caused authorities to lockdown the area on Wednesday morning. Baldwin Park Police and California Highway Patrol arrived on the scene after shots were reported around 8 a.m.

It's unclear what led to the shooting, and the victim was in unknown condition.

The lockdown was lifted around 10:00 a.m. Kaiser Permanente tweeted there was no danger to patients or hospital staff.

"Our patients and staff are safe," the hospital said. "No dangerous activity in the hospital. Lock down has been lifted by local law enforcement. Hospital is resuming normal operations. Stay safe!"
