
People walking in the 3500 block of Santa Anita Avenue in El Monte found the body of a man who had been stabbed to death floating in the Rio Hondo Wash, sheriff's officials said today.
It was reported at 3:35 p.m. Saturday in the 3500 block of Santa Anita Avenue, according to Deputy Mark Pope of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Pope said.
The name of the man, described as a 25 to 35-year-old Hispanic, has not been released by the coroner.
He suffered blunt force trauma and possible stab wounds, according to officials in the sheriff's headquarters bureau.

In 2011, a woman was also found in the Rio Hondo wash in the lower Azusa/Santa Anita area of El Monte.Â
