Metrolink Train Fatally Strikes Pedestrian Near Baldwin Park

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train on the San Bernardino Line Tuesday.

BALDWIN PARK, CA —Officials reported that a person was struck and killed on the tracks near the El Monte and Baldwin Park stations, on the San Bernardino line, at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Firefighters responded to the reported collision in the 11300 block of Valley Boulevard, near Peck Road, and pronounced the victim dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Information about the pedestrian, including age and gender, or how they came to be on the tracks, was not immediately available.

According to Metrolink and the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the service downtown was, and busses would be provided with a transfer to a train at the station.

Trains to the San Bernardino Downtown area were also canceled. Metrolink advised following Twitter for updates.
