Metrolink Train Strikes Pedestrian Near Baldwin Park
Trains were delayed up to two hours after striking a man between the Baldwin Park and El Monte stations, Metrolink has said.

EL MONTE, CA — A Metrolink train struck and killed a man walking near the tracks Thursday morning, between Baldwin Park and El Monte, officials said.
The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash that occurred between metro stations, El Monte Police Department and Metrolink said. His identity has not yet been released, according to officials.
"The man was struck by the SB Line 319 train bound for Los Angeles from San Bernardino," a Metrolink spokesperson said.

The tracks were closed between Baldwin Park and El Monte during the investigation.
Metrolink said the track closure also affected the SB Line 321 train to Los Angeles being held at Baldwin Park; and the SB Line 306 train to downtown San Bernardino, ordered to hold at El Monte.

Two hours after the trains were held, Metrolink service began again, they said.
