Power Cut to 348 Customers When Car Hits Pole in Baldwin Park

A female driver collided into two power poles after losing control of her vehicle.

As many as 348 Southern California Edison customers lost electrical power Thursday morning in Baldwin Park after a car struck two utility poles in the corner of Pacific Avenue and Holy Avenue.

Power was scheduled to be restored to all customers by 2:00 a.m. Friday March 1st., according to the blackout map from Southern California Edison (SCE).

The Baldwin Park City Hall was impacted by the power outage.

Lt. David Reynoso, spokesperson from the Baldwin Park, told Patch that a female driver collided into two power poles after losing control of her vehicle, around 4:00 a.m.

The driver, who age was not disclosed, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, said Reynoso.

Workers closed one lane on Pacific Avenue between Maine Avenue and Ahern Drive to replace the power poles and restore the service.
