Quick Response Helps Keep Fire Along 210 Freeway Small

Firefighters today worked to extinguish a fire that has scorched about three acres of brush near the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Irwindale.

The fire was reported near the Irwindale Avenue offramp about 12:50 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fire was nearly out after about a half-hour, and air units that had been sent to assist in the firefighting effort were canceled, a county fire department spokesman said.
