Rain Headed to Southern California

Showers following some early drizzle could arrive Thursday afternoon around Baldwin Park, said the National Weather Service.

A cold front heading to Southern California is expected to produce light rain
or drizzle around Baldwin Park Thursday afternoon and Friday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

According to the NWS forecast there is a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 4 p.m. Thursday in Baldwin Park. Temperatures will be High 64 Farenheit. Winds at 5 to 10 mph.

The low-pressure system, forecast to arrive late Thursday or early Friday, will produce showers across Southern California and up to 6 inches of snow at elevations of more than about 3,500 feet.

Forecasters said there was a slight chance Friday's storm could produce thunderstorms or hail, and snow could affect high-elevation roads.

  • Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 63. East wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
  • Thursday Night: A chance of rain, then rain and possibly a thunderstorm after 10pm. Low around 49. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming east northeast in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
  • Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. High near 56. East wind around 5 mph becoming south southwest in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
  • Friday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 42. West southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
