SIGALERT: 60 Eastbound Shut Down For Overturned Semi Truck

A semi-tractor trailer overturned on the eastbound 60 freeway Monday, causing a sigalert and hard closure of all lanes. BREAKING.

BALDWIN PARK, CA — The 60 Eastbound Freeway was closed Monday morning after an 18-wheeler overturned in the slow lane, according to CHP.

The crash occurred shortly after 10:30 a.m. Monday, when the big rig overturned onto its side, according to reports.

The cloverleaf interchange was shut down at the southbound Azusa onramp to eastbound 60, CHP said.

The tractor was turned upright, but was severely damaged. A SIGALERT was released at 11 a.m., as the vehicle was blocking the #2, 3 and 4 lanes, CHP said. The 18-wheeler sustained major damage in the crash according to reports. The trailer it was towing was empty at the time of the crash, according to reports.

As of noon, the roadway remained closed. It was unclear if anyone was hurt, or how the crash occurred, as of this report.
