Southland Gas Prices Rise for 11th Consecutive Day

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the 11th consecutive day, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $4.086.

The cheapest gasoline price in Baldwin Park is at Arco Station on 4258 Maine Avenue, according to our commute page.

The average price has risen 19.1 cents over the past 11 days and is 15.3 cents more than one week ago and 7.1 cents higher than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

However, thanks to a 30-day streak of decreases immediately preceding the increases, the average price is 30 cents less than one year ago.

The Los Angeles County average price is the fourth-highest in the state behind San Francisco ($4.134), the San Luis Obispo-Atascadero-Paso Robles region ($4.126) and the Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Lompoc area ($4.115).

The Orange County average price also rose for the 11th consecutive day, increasing 1.1 cents to $4.07, 16.8 cents more than one week ago and 8.5 cents higher than one month ago but 30.2 cents less than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has risen 21 cents over the past 11 days after decreasing 20 times in 21 days.

The increasing pump prices follow a sharp rise in wholesale gasoline prices that came in response to reports that extensive maintenance would be conducted at the Exxon Mobil refinery in Torrance for nearly all of May, reducing supply, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
