Wet Weather: More Rain on the Way to Southland

A cold Pacific storm out of the Gulf of Alaska brought Southern California rain and snow Thursday, and forecasters said a second weather system would do the same on Saturday.

Saturday's temperatures in Baldwin Park were expected to be in the 60s. A few showers early with overcast skies later in the day.

A second cold front, similar to the one that arrived Wednesday night, was expected to reach San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties late Friday morning or early in the afternoon, then spread southeast into Ventura and L.A. counties in the evening, lingering into Saturday morning, according to the NWS. The system's heaviest rain will fall in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

The current storm and the one on its way are each expected to generally produce between a quarter-inch and a half-inch of rain in coastal and valley areas and between a half-inch and an inch in the mountains and foothills.

Here's Baldwin Park's weekend forecast, per the NWS:

• Saturday:A few showers early with overcast skies later in the day. High 62F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 30%
• Saturday Night:A few clouds. Low 44F. Winds light and variable.
• Sunday: A 10 percent chance of showers, mainly before 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60.
• Sunday Night: A 20 percent chance of rain before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43.
