1 Dead In Banning Hit-And-Run
Police are asking for the public's help finding the person responsible.

BANNING, CA β Banning police are asking for the public's help finding a motorist who struck a pedestrian over the weekend, leaving them for dead in the roadway.
The collision happened on Saturday around 4:50 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Ramsey Street, near 16th Street, according to Banning police. Police say they were called when someone spotted a many lying in the roadway and bleeding.
"Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle," police said in a news release. "Medical personnel responded to render aid; however, the male sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene."

Police later confirmed that the man, who was not immediately identified, had indeed been hit by a car while he was crossing the street.
"The vehicle did not stop after striking the victim and left the location without rendering aid or calling 9-1-1," police said.

Police believe that the car involved was a "silver four-door compact sedan with damage to the right front side of the vehicle and possibly the right front passenger door area." It may have been a mid-2000s Toyota Corolla.
