2 People Critically Wounded In Cabazon Shooting
A North Las Vegas man fired on three people in a parked vehicle, according to a sheriff's sergeant.
CABAZON, CA β A North Las Vegas man suspected of opening fire on three people in Cabazon remained jailed Tuesday.
Erick Jones, 43, was being held at Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm, jail records show.
According to Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Jaime A. Hernandez, the shooting was reported around 10:21 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot in the 48300 block of Seminole Drive.

Three people were sitting in their parked vehicle when a man, later identified as Jones, approached them and an argument ensued.
Jones "brandished a firearm and began firing at the victims in their vehicle," Hernandez said. "Two of the victims sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to a local hospital. The wounded victims are expected to survive their injuries but remain hospitalized in critical condition."

Jones allegedly fled the scene and was found in San Bernardino County after an extensive search, according to Hernandez.
Jail records show Jones was arrested at 12:50 a.m. Monday. He is being held in lieu of $1 million and is due to appear in court Wednesday.
The identities of the victims will not be released.
