'Armed, Dangerous' Suspect Sought In Banning Killing

BANNING, CA β€” A man suspected in a fatal shooting that occurred this week is being sought by Banning police.

Banning resident Jason Rhine, who also goes by the name of Jason Valasquez, was identified as the suspect in the shooting at a home in the 1200 block of San Gorgonio Avenue.

Officers arrived at the single-family residence around 8:28 a.m. Tuesday, where several people said there was a victim inside, according to Banning police. The victim, whose identity has not be released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rhine, who was identified as the suspect, fled the area in a gray-colored four-door Kia Optima. He is considered armed and dangerous, according to the Banning Police Department.

Rhine frequents the areas of Riverside, Banning, Beaumont and Cabazon and was described by police as having short shaved hair and several tattoos on his face and body.

The Banning Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding Rhine. "If seen, call 911 and do not approach," police said. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Banning Police Department Detective Bureau at 951-922-3170.
