Assault By Strangers Leads To Marijuana Grow West Of Beaumont

A victim told deputies has was assaulted by strangers while sleeping at an illegal marijuana grow on San Timoteo Canyon Road.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA β€” A pre-dawn assault over the weekend at a property on San Timoteo Canyon Road led to the discovery of a marijuana grow, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported.

Shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday, deputies were called to the 32000 block of San Timoteo Canyon Road in unincorporated area regarding an assault.

The victim told deputies has was assaulted by strangers while he was sleeping at an illegal marijuana grow, according to the sheriff's department. The victim left the property on foot and walked to find help.

During the investigation, a sheriff’s helicopter was deployed and the crew spotted the grow in a canyon, the department said.

A search warrant was obtained and approximately 400 marijuana plants were eradicated. No suspects were found at the property and the investigation is continuing, according to the sheriff's department.
