Banning Building Engulfed In Flames As Fire Rips Through

The fire destroyed an abandoned house in town.

BANNING, CA β€” For the second day in a row, flames could be seen pouring out of a Banning structure, sending a large plume of smoke into the region. The fire, located in the 22 block of West Lincoln Street, was reported at 10:42 a.m.

Crews from the Riverside County and Morongo fire departments arrived to find an abandoned single-family home fully engulfed in flames, according to Jody Hagemann with the Riverside County Fire Department.

A total of 17 firefighters helped douse the flames, and the fire was contained by 11:04 a.m., she told Patch. Resources are expected to remain at the scene until about 12:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
