Banning High School Student of the Month

January 2019

Senior Hiya Intwala is Student of the Month for January at Banning High School.

In May, she will be competing to become Student of the Year for the Banning Unified School District.

β€œWe recognize students who have overcome challenging life circumstances without compromising their education,” said Principal Matt Valdivia. β€œThe heartbeat of the Student of the Month competition is someone who makes a difference in their home, school, and community with sincerity and passion.”

The recognition honors students for demonstrating character, integrity, love of learning, involvement in school activities, athletics, and community service. Student honorees must be planning on attending college or trade school.

Intwala will be one of seven Banning High nominees in 2018-2019 competing for the prestigious District award and scholarship. Student of the Month nominees will also be named for February and March.

So far, Student of the Month nominees include seniors Elyssa Salas, Michelle Candelario, David Mills and Adriana Contreras.
