Banning High School Tops San Bernardino Pacific

Friday night was also the annual Fall Athletics Senior Recognition Night.

The Banning Broncos Varsity Football team was victorious on Friday night October 24, 2014 with a 26-13 defeat of San Bernardino Pacific H.S. We are all collectively proud and pleased on how the team competed and demonstrated sportsmanship at its highest level. Kudos to all the players and coaches for your hard work and tireless efforts.

In addition, Friday night marked the annual Fall Athletics Senior Recognition Night (Class of 2015). Senior athletes and their escorts were dressed in uniforms (athletes) and semi-formal attire (escorts) and walked through a β€œtunnel” created by the junior varsity and varsity cheer squads while being serenaded by inspirational music being played in the background by the BHS Marching Band. ASB President Benjamin Sheffield was master of ceremonies and read each senior athlete’s brief biography which included: the fall sport(s) they are participating in, position(s) they play, current academic strengths, plans for future after high school, and acknowledgements and special thank you messages.

The color guard was also on hand to provide their skills and added pageantry to the ceremony. ASB Director/Dean of Students Kelly Daly congratulated each athlete in their β€œwalk to the 50” and handed each a beautiful wrapped and decorated carnation. The athlete and their escort(s) then faced the crowd at the 50 yard line, took a bow, and were acknowledged by the crowd in attendance in the home spectator stands.
