Banning House Fire Under Investigation

BANNING, CA — The cause of a weekend fire that ripped through a Banning home is under investigation. The blaze was first reported at a single-story house just after 3 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Third Street, which is in the area of North San Gorgonio Avenue and West Nicolet Street.

The Riverside County Fire Department says the first arriving firefighters spotted "heavy smoke and fire from the front of the building." However, by 3:46 a.m., the crews from eight engines that responded to the scene contained the fire.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
