Beaumont Library Closing through March 29
As recommended by health and government officials, services to the public will be suspended for two weeks

Beaumont Library is a welcoming and trusted resource for everyone in the community. The safety of our staff and customers is one of our top priorities. At this time of uncertainty about the Coronavirus (Covid-19), with all schools in Riverside County being shut down and access to City facilities being severely limited, Beaumont Library will be closed to the public beginning Monday, March 16, through Sunday, March 29. Bookmobile service will also be suspended. The length of these closures may be extended depending upon local circumstances.
Please remember, that whether Beaumont Library is open or not, we have many digital services available to our cardholders for free, such as e-books, e-audiobooks, and magazines, as well as streaming music, movies, and TV. These materials are available online 24/7 at bld.lib.ca.us without the need to even visit our building!
Our book returns on California Avenue and next to the library parking lot will remain open and be emptied on a regular basis. Fines will be suspended during this period and we will put a freeze on any physical items that have been placed on hold.

It is also important to point out that those who come to Beaumont Library to use the Internet will still be able to access our strong wi-fi signal from the parking lot.
In the meantime, we continue to follow national, state, and local public health authorities and will pursue proactive strategies as necessary. As already recommended by health officials, we will implement deep cleaning of our building and collection during the closure.

Once we return to regular operations, we will continue enhanced cleaning protocols, and hand sanitizers will be available for staff and library customers. In addition, safety notices will be posted informing the public about Covid-19, its symptoms, and steps for avoiding it.
For your personal health and that of others, please remember to follow the precautions and preventative measures as recommended by the Center for Disease Control:
Β· Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Β· Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Β· Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content.
Β· Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and throw the tissue in the trash.
Β· Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Β· Stay home when you are sick.
Thank you for your support of Beaumont Library District, a California Special District independent of City and County, as we work through this difficult period.
