Beaumont Resident Killed In Whitewater Roll-Over Crash On I-10

The resident was killed Tuesday morning in a single- vehicle roll-over crash on Interstate 10 in Whitewater.

WHITEWATER, CA- A young Beaumont resident was killed Tuesday morning in a single- vehicle roll-over crash on Interstate 10 in Whitewater while driving unrestrained and possibly intoxicated, police said.

The 24-year-old suffered fatal injuries about 12:30 a.m. just west of Highway 62, according to coroner's officials and the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Officer Jackie Quintero said the victim was driving westbound in a Jeep Wrangler when they lost control, veered into the shoulder area and struck a pole.

The victim, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol or drugs appear to have contributed to the crash, Quintero said.
