Body Found On 60 Freeway, Arrest Made

The body of Downey resident Lisa Renee Conduff, 56, was discovered by a California Highway Patrol officer.

DIAMOND BAR, CA β€” Pass Area commuters who may have been stuck in a large traffic jam Wednesday on state Route 60 now have word on what caused the delay.

At approximately 10:45 a.m., a California Highway Patrol officer saw a stopped Acura sedan on the freeway's eastbound right shoulder but no one was in the car, according to a San Gabriel Valley Tribune report.

After a search of the area, the officer spotted a woman's body, the news outlet reported.

Freeway lanes were shut down and an hours-long investigation ensued that lasted well into the afternoon.

It's not clear how, but authorities tracked down a suspect. Sercan Naldoken, 32, of Downey was arrested at Orange County's John Wayne Airport. His relationship to the deceased β€” Lisa Renee Conduff, 56, of Downey β€” was not disclosed.

As of Thursday, Naldoken was being held at the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles in lieu of $2 million bail.
